The Initiative of Aleksander Kwaśniewski "Direct Neighbourhood" is a set of proposals aimed at improving the European Neighbourhood Policy of the European Union. It also serves the purpose of fostering international discussion on the best forms and methods of supporting the political and economic transformation of the East European countries and the formula of relations between the EU and its Eastern Neighbourhood.
The Amicus Europae Foundation will further develop a more detailed discussion and analysis of the issues and problems generally presented in this Initiative. Conferences, seminars and public debates will be arranged to foster the exchange of views and opinions. Reports and analyses will be published to proliferate these ideas in the whole European Union.
