Report "European Neighbourhood Policy. Challanges and Recommendations"

The Report of the Amicus Europae Foundation "European Neighborhood Policy. Challenges and recommendations" contains theses and conclusions that are the achievements of the conference organized on 4 December 2006 in Warsaw by the Amicus Europae Foundation and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation "Taking the challenge. In the pursueof a New European Neighbourhood Policy" .
Co-shaping an effective policy of the European Union towards its Eastern neighbours is one of the most important objectives for the Polish foreign policy. As a state directly neighbouring on Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, Poland has unique experiences and expertise that, if adequately used, may enrich the current neighbourhood policy, raising its effectiveness, consistency and long-term efficacy in the implementation of the intended purposes. For this to become reality, activity and creativity are necessary not only of the government administration, but also scientific institutes, universities and non-governmental organizations.
Following this challenge, the Amicus Europae Foundation has undertaken the European Integration Program project. Its most important goal has been to foster social and political activity for European integration in Poland. Thanks to the initiatives undertaken under this program, the Amicus Europae Foundation wants to contribute to improving the intensity and quality of the European dialogue, supporting, along with other NGOs, the exchange of thoughts and views in the EU on the topics that are most important for our Community. The above mentioned conference was one of the first realized projects.
Together with the analysis of the European Neighbourhood Policy the Report brings several recommendations for ations to be taken.
