The elite group meets annually at luxury hotels or resorts throughout the world — normally in Europe, and once every four years in the United States or Canada. It has an office in Leiden in the Netherlands.[1] The 2008 conference took place in Chantilly, Virginia.
The Bilderberg club is regarded by many financial and business elites as the high chamber of the high priests of capitalism. Each year, a mysterious "steering committee" devises a selected invitation list with a maximum 100 names. The location of their annual meeting have a headquarters in Leiden, in the Netherlands. The meetings are shrouded in the utmost secrecy. Participants and guests rarely reveal that they are attending. Their security is managed by military intelligence. They try to magnify their already immense political clout, on both sides of the Atlantic. Everybody pledges absolute secrecy on what has been discussed.
The Bilderberg mingles central bankers, defense experts, press barons, government ministers, prime ministers, royalty, international financiers and political leaders from Europe and America.
